  To discuss Jermaine Jackson as a separate entity to the Jackson 5, I’d imagine would be blasphemous to some but lets not forget that Jermaine Jackson was one fifth of what made up the world renowned Motown outfit. Unlike his brother who transcended through a variety of genres riding the wave of pop music across the last five decades, Jermaine stayed true to his Motown roots, when he embarked on a solo career in 1972. He had a successful career, with his 1980’s album ‘Let’s Get Serious’ being nominated for a Grammy Award and a handful of his songs such as ‘Daddy’s Home’, ‘Feel the Fire’, and ‘Let’s Get Serious’ all climbing to the top of the Billboard’s Hot 100. He hasn’t toured for many years and the last television appearance that he made performing was his heart-wrenching rendition of Charlie Chaplin’s ‘Smile’, which was his brother’s favourite song of all time. As a live performer, he still has that performance gene that runs in the family. You can tell that when Jermaine Jackson performs, he knows exactly what he is doing, and he knows how to cater to the audiences needs. When he takes to the stage, he is poised, if a little calm about what he is doing. People forget that he has been involved with music professionally for five decades not only this, but he is a multi instrumentalist. He bursts in to his Grammy nominated track, ‘Let’s Get Serious’, delivering an impressive amount of energy for a sixty-something entertainer, reminding the audience that the Jacksons no doubt uphold an incredible reputation and a stellar legacy.
