"I wanted to be an actor when I was in college and I attempted to see if I was any good. I had some Broadway actors that lived outside of my community in Detroit that trained. I ended up being pretty good and went to New York and tried to get into the Neighborhood Playhouse Theater, which is where quite a few famous actors have gone, Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton to name a few. I got in, but then long story short I decided to pursue another path and the whole idea of being a struggling actor, possibly for a long time, didn't appeal to me. So I ended up not pursuing it and became an English teacher."
