Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President

Todd M. Schoon, JD, CLU®, ChFC®, is the executive vice president and senior advisor to the president at The American College of Financial Services. Previously, he was The College’s interim president and CEO. In 2020, Schoon was awarded the Solomon S. Huebner Gold Medal, the highest honor bestowed by The College to individuals whose leadership and support have significantly advanced The College’s mission.

Schoon began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1988 after graduating from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in finance and a Juris Doctor. He built a successful personal practice in Chicago, Illinois, and then followed his passion for leadership in running business units under the Northwestern umbrella.

In 1999, he was appointed managing partner at Northwestern’s office in New York City. In his time there, he led the firm from the bottom 10% to the top 10% in recruiting and developing new financial representatives. In June 2006, Schoon was recruited to the corporate office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he led the company’s distribution system as executive vice president for agencies.

Schoon is a member of the board of trustees for American United Mutual Insurance Health Company based in Indianapolis, Indiana. In the community, he is a board member of the University School of Milwaukee. He lives with his wife Jen and two children.
