OBS: Please look at the photos carefully. There are signs of very light patches of paint rash. It is very difficult to take a picture of the paint paint rash. I have sold 4 of these models before which were factory sealed and this is the best one I have had the pleasure to own. The other models had paint rash problems - not too bad and the customers were very happy with the models. The box has signs of shelfware.

CMC Ferrari Race Car Transporter Type Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti, 1957

This replica of the 1957 Ferrari Race Car Transporter is a masterpiece.

The model is assembled from 3,115 single parts and measures approximately 50 cm long. It is a true piece of art in model building, which is a testament to the extraordinary abilities of CMC.

The 1950s and 1960s are known as an era that witnessed a boom in race car transporters, which are being rediscovered today and held in high regard.

The two similar-looking transporters, the Scuderia Ferrari and Maserati might well be the most famous and technically the best-built transporters of that era. They were mounted on Fiat-bus chassis of the type 642 RN2 with open bodywork designed by Bartoletti, the resulting transporter was good for hauling three race cars. At first sight, these two transporters, equipped with a 92 hp diesel in-line engine looked alike except for the paintwork and decals. But upon a closer look, they differ in a considerable number of details.

In those days, a transporter was necessary to transport race cars to the race track. They also served as an inspection bay and were used as quarters for the crew. Many crew members spent the majority of their time working in and around these race transporters.
