Minnesota Timberwolves: Magic Johnson Declares Anthony Edwards as the ‘Greatest’ Today in 1 Key Area
Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

Magic Johnson, just like the rest of the NBA world, was in awe of Anthony Edwards after the Minnesota Timberwolves star delivered what could easily be the dunk of the year on Monday.

The basketball legend was so impressed that he had major praises for Edwards after the performance.

Magic Johnson Calls Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards the Greatest In-Game Dunker Today

Reacting to the viral dunk, which features Edwards detonating on Utah Jazz big man John Collins, Johnson hailed Edwards as the “greatest in-game dunker” in the game today.

The Los Angeles Lakers icon even went as far as to saying that Ant-Man’s dunk reminded him of the players he played against during his time in the league, such as Julius Erving, Dominique Wilkins and Michael Jordan–all of whom are considering among the best dunkers in NBA history.

“Anthony Edwards is the greatest in-game dunker in the NBA today and one of the most exciting and electrifying players because of his athleticism! His dunk reminds me of the best in-game dunkers I played against – Dr. J, Michael Jordan, and Dominique Wilkins!” Johnson declared.

That’s certainly massive praise for Edwards, and it speaks volumes considering that it came from one of the greatest players to ever step on the NBA hardwood. It’s hard to impress someone like Johnson who played with and against the top players in the sport’s history, but Ant-Man did just that.

Minnesota Timberwolves Star Anthony Edwards’ Massive Dunk Injures John Collins

For those who missed it, Anthony Edwards absolutely destroyed John Collins during their Monday showdown. The Minnesota Timberwolves star stole the ball on the other end, passed it to teammate Nickeil-Alexander-Walker on their half, and then got the ball back as he was approaching the rim.

Edwards then proceeded to rise and throw the ball down with authority, while Collins attempted to stop or at least hinder him from making the shot.

Making things even more embarrassing for the Utah Jazz forward, he actually got injured and sustained a head injury–determined to be a head contusion but not concussion–forcing him to sit out the rest of the contest.

Aside from Magic Johnson, Dwyane Wade was also amazed by Edwards’ dunk and could only say “HIM” in reaction to the massive slam. The whole basketball world also lost its mind, with many fans already declaring it as the Dunk of the Year.
