A 69-year-old French woman became trapped in her bathroom after the door locks failed her, and locked her in. She was rescued after three weeks when neighbors became so fed up with her pipes-tapping call for help.
In fact, they actually launched a petition to get the mysterious pipe-tapper to cease making such a racket. Thankfully, a worried neighbor alerted rescue workers when they realized she hadn't been seen in weeks. She survived thanks to her diet of drinking warm water from the tap. Had she had a phone on her like the man trapped in the Haitian earthquake earlier this year, she could've at least looked up some nice recipes for warm water and soap. Not to mention call for help...
