The Nevada Gaming Control Board granted Caesars Entertainment permission to open its nine Las Vegas casino floors at 100 percent occupancy. The waiver applies to Bally’s Las Vegas, Caesars Palace, The Cromwell, Flamingo Las Vegas, Harrah’s Las Vegas, The Linq, Paris Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort, and the Rio.
The Silverton also received approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board to operate its casino at full capacity, effective immediately. The capacity change includes the removal of social distancing restrictions and plexiglass dividers from gaming tables and slot machines, as well as full capacity at bars on the casino floor.
The waiver only applies to gaming floors. Restaurants, pools, and other non-gaming areas still adhere to Clark County’s mandate with 80 percent occupancy restrictions and three feet of social distancing. Masks are still mandated statewide.
Clark County, which is in charge of COVID-19 mitigation efforts, remains at 80 percent capacity, with the hope of expanding to 100 percent occupancy once 60 percent of residents receive a COVID-19 vaccine shot. The county reports 47 percent of eligible Clark County are vaccinated.
The resorts join Wynn Las Vegas, Encore Las Vegas, Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the Strat, nine resorts from MGM Resorts, and six resorts from Station Casinos, which all received approval to expand to 100 percent capacity. The Nevada Gaming Control Board says that individual resort properties can waive their county’s occupancy rates by applying directly to the board.
