Forza Horizon 8 is one of the games that Xbox fans hope to see on the upcoming Xbox event and according to the latest leaked details, it will be well worth the wait.

On July 23, 2020, Microsoft will host Xbox Games Showcase event where they plan to reveal a fresh batch of games from Xbox Game Studios but also projects from their third-party partners. Rumours about the games lineup at Xbox event have been floating around for quite some time now, but all we know at the moment is that Halo Infinite will be at the event while Obsidian Entertainment will also show their new game.

When it comes to racing games, it is safe to assume that Microsoft will reveal a Forza game since Sony already showcased Gran Turismo 7 will ray tracing, running at 60 FPS. This Forza game could be a Motorsport 8 title since Horizon 4 was the last entry in the series.

According to the latest leak, Forza Motorsport 8 will be revealed at Xbox event later this month and if most of the details are true, the game will certainly be worth the wait. The leak also mentions that the developer Turn 10 are targeting quality over quantity, meaning car and track details will be more important this time around. On top of this, the Career Mode has had a full overhaul and will be similar to Need for Speed story mode with character cinematics and "full-blown storyline".

Calendar style events return from Forza Motorsport 4 and the "seasons system" from Forza Horizon 4 is also in the game. As for the performance, the devs are apparently aiming for 4K 120FPS with ray tracing.

The release date is set for February 2021.
