In J.M. Barries tale Peter Pan we are introduced to Tiger Lily, a princess of the Pickanenny Tribe who is very independent. When she is captured by the pirates and told that if she gives them information they will let her live. However, Tiger Lily stands strong and shows that she would rather die than give up to them. Tiger Lily successfully shows in this scene that she is brave. She is willing to make a stand even if it means claiming her life. Even though she has a snobbish demeanor, she shows that she has integrity. In the upcoming movie Pan we see Tiger Lily in action when fighting off the pirates. I expect we will see more of Tiger Lily’s ability to fight and stand up for herself. Despite her flaws, Tiger Lily is a fantastic female role model.
