Barcelona are said to be “very advanced” in their plans to sign Guido Rodriguez from Real Betis this summer on a free transfer.

Diario Sport are reporting the midfielder is seen as a “good, nice and cheap” option for the Blaugrana and claims a very positive meeting has been held between both parties.

Barca’s top priority this summer seems to be to bring in a new pivot and Rodriguez is a good option as he’s available on a free transfer.

Other names such as Joshua Kimmich and Martin Zubimendi continue to be mentioned but seem to be out of reach for now.

Oriol Romeu is expected to leave this summer after failing to secure a regular place in the first team since returning to the club.

Andreas Christensen has been moved into midfield, and has made it clear he wants to stay, but does not appear to be Xavi’s long-term choice in the position.
