OG supermodel Christie Brinkley graced the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue for a record-setting three consecutive years in 1979, 1980 and 1981, and now, at 63, she's suiting up again, but this time, she's ushering in a new generation of model icons—her daughters Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley Cook.

The three of them look stunning in their mother-daughter shoot, and Christie admits that it was actually her girls who encouraged her to appear in the special issue once again.

"My first thought was, 'At my age? No way!'" she told People. "When I turned 30, I was like, 'This is the last time I’m posing in a bathing suit!' When this issue comes out, I’ll be 63. I thought, 'Those days are over.' But to get to do it with my girls, I thought, 'One last go!'"

Christie also shared the shot of herself and her daughters in coordinating black bathing suits on her Instagram. She captioned the photo, "Yes! I am excited to announce that I am back in @si_swimsuit ..I figured with my gorgeous daughters @alexarayjoel and @sailorbrinkleycook by my side whose going to be looking at me! Oh and My kids think I walk on water, so let's not mention the apple box concealed just under the surface."

According to People, both Sailor and Alexa had different reactions to being asked to take part in the shoot. Sailor, who's a model in her own right already, called the experience "empowering and liberating," while Alexa said she,"needed to be talked into embracing new experiences." Both, however, used the opportunity to encourage body positive thinking and open up about their own body image struggles.

On Instagram, Sailor posted the photo of herself, her mom and her sister, along with an inspiring message about how she's learned to accept and appreciate her body the way it is.

"I've had issues with my body image since before I can even remember. I grew up not loving how I looked and felt held back because of it...But recently I have been liberated. I am healthy, i treat myself well, and for that i'm happy. I've looked in the mirror and been able to LOVE the things about my body that beauty norms deem 'undesirable'. I now have grown to know that my body is worthy of so many great things. I don't need to be a size 0 to believe in myself. My body carries me each and every day, it loves the people i love, it holds what makes me healthy and strong, it bends it shakes it runs and it CHANGES. That is okay and that is beautiful."

And Alexa wrote on Instagram that for her, the shoot was a lesson in being open to new experiences and self-acceptance. "This was a lesson in learning to let go, take the plunge, and embrace myself from both the inside AND out- which is something I struggle with each and every day," she captioned a solo photo from the shoot. "My purpose is to now pass along this lesson of unconditional self-love and self-respect to every woman who's willing to listen."
