Get to Know Fathiya

I am currently learning a new language and enjoy reading anything related to Africa and the diaspora.

I was born in Somalia and came to the US as a refugee. Navigating college is already difficult but the added layer of being an immigrant and a first generation student makes it even more difficult. This program is important to me because I've experienced the struggle of navigating through college without having the resources and tools to equip me for success.
