(ANSA) - Milan, January 14 - An appeal request made public
Tuesday argues that ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi was among
"many" people "convinced that (Karima 'Ruby' El Mahroug) was an
adult" and not an underage prostitute.
Berlusconi's lawyers also insisted that the three-time premier was under the false impression that Ruby was the niece of fallen Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak, as he told police when she was under arrest for theft and later released. In June, Berlusconi was sentenced to a total of seven years in prison for paying Ruby for sex and abusing his office in a lie to cover it up.
