They wanted to be seen as pieces of meat — and they got it.

Three scantily clad ladies created quite a bit of chatter of both mouths and camera shutters while staging a meat-eating protest during Ottawa’s annual Ribfest Wednesday.

The PETA activists stood in nothing but sky-high black heels, red lipstick and nude-colored pasties and thongs while temporary tattoos sectioned off their bodies like a butcher’s cuts of meat.

“Loin, rib, breast, rump, shoulder,” some of the prints read across their bare flesh.

“All animals have the same body parts: Try vegan!” a sign held by one of the slender women read.

Whether or not the event was able to sway any meat-eaters wasn’t readily seen.

Online commenters generally appeared playfully supportive of their appearance, however, less for their message.

“Ribs and naked ladies. Thanks PETA,” one commenter wrote to seeing the photos on Reddit.

“I don’t have wings, so is PETA saying I can eat chicken wings?” wrote another.

“I’m all for environmental activism, but just because people have ‘the same parts’ as animals is a f—ing stupid reason to give people to go vegan,” commented another viewer — to enormous support. “They should be protesting the huge American factory farms and supporting local farmers. Giving people information on the benefits of locally grown food would do way more than anything else they could do.”

PETA campaigner Matt Bruce told MetroNews that the protest was to “help people make the connection that the animals on their plate were once individuals who had thoughts, feelings, personalities and a will to live.”
