Vanessa Hudgens is making a play for diamond of the Met Gala 2022.
On May 2, the actor arrived at the closest event we have to a Regency-era ball wearing what one might describe as the Bridgerton of all sheer dresses. The black gown by Moschino covers the actor from neck to toe in see-through material and lace detailing around the bust, perfecting the naked dressing trend. But what really makes the look are the grand puffy sleeves that add a serious amount of drama and Lady Danbury-esque elegance. Hudgens topped off the look with stunning jewels by Messika.
As for her beauty look, Hudgens wore her hair in an intricately braided bun and kept the drama going with a champagne smokey eye and a pale pink lip.
If there was any further doubt of this look's inspiration, aside from the Met Gala's Gilded Glamour theme, Vanessa Hudgens' Met Gala ensemble looked poised to promenade with fashion journalist Hamish Bowles and Lala Anthony, who wore Ralph Lauren and LaQuan Smith, respectively.
The 2022 Met Gala is being co-hosted by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The Gilded Glamour theme serves as a lavish follow-up to last year's exhibition, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” which was postponed to September 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Both parts of the “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” exhibit will be open to the public from May 7 until September 5, 2022.
